Make Dua for the Quran’s Guidance

Make Dua for the Quran’s Guidance

Make Dua for the Quran’s Guidance

The book of Allah has been written in Arabic because it was the language of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the Prophet onto whom the book was revealed. So it was natural that Allah chose Arabic for the verses to be sent down upon him. However, in his verses Allah asked us to read and learn the Quran and there is a tradition of the holy Prophet (PBUH) “The Best amongst you is (he) who learns and teaches the Holy Quran.”
With this in mind Muslims all over the world seek to learn the Arabic language in an attempt to understand the words of Allah. However, some Muslims, especially converts or those who have not got the opportunity to learn the Quran in their childhood, find it difficult to learn the language and many give up.
In this situation a true Muslim must pray to Allah to make it easier for them to learn. With sincere praying to Allah He Subhanawatalah will open the doors to learn the Quran for the person. And not only will the person start loving the book of Allah, understanding it like a story, but will delve deeper and deeper into the meanings of what exactly Allah is trying to tell us. When the person is on the way to mastery of the Quran, it is then that he is truly towards the path of Allah. Because that is the path where he is not only learning the Quran but also following it.
Allah has said about the Quran in the Quran “And indeed We have made the Quran easy for direction and guidance, but is there anyone who will take advice?” (Sura Al-Qamar 54, verse # 17). So beautiful. Allah has himself promised the guidance of the Quran to those who seek it. So will we not be among those people? Will we not seek guidance through it? If we’re having trouble in pronouncing certain words or letters of the Quran, will we not make dua for Allah’s help? Ofcourse we will. And we should! Let’s keep praying to Allah to help us read and understand the Quran better but let’s also pray for those people who have trouble doing so. May Allah’s guidance of the Quran reach all. Ameen.

 Anger Management in the Quran

 Anger Management in the Quran

Anger Management in the Quran

As humans we go through many emotions that we feel unable to control. Anger is one of them and the strongest one too. Fortunately, for us, Allah has told us in the Quran how to deal with it. That is why the Quran as a source of information that will help us lead an Islamic life, is so very important. The Quran is a full guide that helps you even with your feelings, how much more amazing can it get? You want to learn how to manage your anger, read the Quran. Learn from the word of Allah.
The only way to manage your anger is to show restrain in your reaction towards the offender. One of you has to show restrain to diffuse the situation and that someone can be you.  Allah has advised us to repress our anger in all situations, no matter how testing they are. He has mentioned this specifically in the Quran when He says, “Those who spend (in Allah’s Cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinoon (the good-doers).” [Quran: Surah Al-e-Imran, Ayat 133-134]. What greater achievement can we have than the love of Allah and as they say being in His good books.
Repressing anger kills the situation that can get ugly very soon and that is why Allah has prescribed it for us. Allah has mentioned repressing anger and forgiveness again and again in the Quran by giving examples of his Prophets as well. Allah says in the Quran “Prophet Ibrahim's (PBUH) father said to him: "I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time." [Surat Maryam: 46) He (PBUH) responded: "Peace be upon you." [Surat Maryam: 47].
Such a simple diffusing answer. The control of anger is palpable and nothing but blessings come out of the Prophet’s mouth. Another such incident about controlling anger is mentioned in the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) when a man came to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) with the killer of his relative. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Pardon him. But the man refused. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Take the blood money. But the man refused. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Go and kill him, for you are like him. At this the man let him go.
Other places anger management has been mentioned in the Quran are numerous. Allah says, “When they get angry, they forgive. [Surah Al-Shurah:37] So let us restrain our anger and not utter anything which cannot be taken back.  Let us all read the Quran and follow the Quran’s teachings and be better Muslims in our daily lives. What better a teacher than Allah Himself, guiding us to the right path through His own words.

 Forgiveness in the Quran

Forgiveness in the Quran

Forgiveness is one of the most important attributes of the Divine Creator. It is also the attribute He, Subahanwatallah, uses the most generously. So there is little surprise when we see it mentioned in the Quran in a number of places. In the book of Allah the attribute of forgiveness is not only restricted to Allah forgiving us for our many sins (hope not too many!) but it also talks about forgiveness that His creation should show to each other.
Just like we all have positive attributes, Allah has put in us some negative attributes too, anger being one of them. When a person responds with anger towards you, how do you react? What do you feel? You feel anger in return, betrayal, frustration and will most probably respond to the person in the same way. THAT is what Allah has spoken about in the Quran. How NOT to react in the same way.
Allah has said in the Quran about forgiveness towards fellow beings, no matter how much they have hurt you"… They should rather pardon and overlook. Would you not love Allah to forgive you? Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Qur'an, 24:22)
So if Allah, with the amount and types of sins we humans do, has it in Him to forgive us then who are we to hold a grudge? Will the anger satisfy you? Will the grudge free you? No. It will infact do exactly the opposite. And that is indeed another reason that Allah has asked us to be merciful in the Quran. When you do not forgive a person and hold the anger in your heart for a long time, you are actually harming yourself by imprisoning yourself in negativity and hard heartedness.
This is exactly what we must believe in that you need your forgiveness more than the person to whom it is made. Allah stresses about forgiveness in the Quran saying “The repayment of a bad action is one equivalent to it. But if someone pardons and puts things right, his reward is with Allah… (Qur'an, 42:40). Indeed the believers of Islam and the Quran are those who believe in forgiving people, because they know that whatever bad deed the person did to them was by Allah’s command and who are they to question it. They know that they will get the reward to "control their rage and pardon other people” because there it is right there, in Allah’s words, the promise in the Quran that He will do so.
Forgiveness teaches a person patience and makes the person better for it, stronger and more steadfast in their goals because they don’t care what life throws their way, they accept it as Allah’s will. Allah says in the Quran, “Whoever is patient and forgives, verily, that is among the matters of steadfast determination.” (Surah Ash-Shura 42:43). We must understand how important in the Quran this attribute of forgiveness is.
